‘Shop’ gives new outfits to under-resourced Stamford students

STAMFORD — Back to School Shop, Inc., an all-volunteer community organization, held its fifth annual event Sunday at Davenport Ridge Elementary School in Stamford.

More than 360 children from the Stamford public elementary schools got new back-to-school outfits and school supplies in a department store-like setting, with the help of volunteer “personal shoppers.” Nearly 250 volunteers from the community helped out at the event.
